Family-run businesses are the backbone of Greece's charter industry and the many supporting services that surround it. Together, they form the interconnected network that makes marine tourism thrive—boat by boat, service by service, partnership by partnership. Through this unity, Greece's yachting community has the strength to drive marine tourism to new heights, showcasing both heritage and innovation on the global stage.

Our participating boats, businesses, and charter companies are not only joining a regatta—they are part of a movement to create greater unity across the industry. By standing together, they highlight Greece's leadership and unique market position in the global chartering industry, reinforcing the country's role as one of the world's premier sailing destinations.

Why Participation Matters

  • Showcasing Excellence: Boats and charter operators highlight the best of Greek sailing to international audiences
  • Community Engagement: Participation supports local economies, sailing schools, and cultural exchange
  • Youth Inspiration: Seeing industry leaders and passionate sailors on the water inspires the next generation
  • Shared Legacy: Every participating boat and charter company becomes part of a living tradition—building a regatta that celebrates heritage, inclusivity, and unity

    Spirit of Sailing Cup

By registering for and/or participating in the Spirit of Sailing Cup (the “Event”), organized by Synergy Yacht Sales & Consulting together with its affiliates, partners, sponsors, service providers, and supporting organizations (collectively, the “Organizers”), each participant—including but not limited to yacht owners, skippers, crew members, charter companies, and associated businesses—acknowledges and agrees to the following:

    1. Assumption of Risk

Sailing and related marine activities inherently involve risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, loss of life, property damage, collision, equipment failure, and adverse weather or sea conditions. Each participant voluntarily assumes full responsibility for all such risks arising out of or in connection with their participation in the Event.

    1. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants hereby release, waive, and forever discharge Synergy Yacht Sales & Consulting, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, affiliates, charter and service partners, sponsors, and all associated organizations and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever, whether in law or equity, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained during or in connection with the Event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

    1. Responsibility of Boat Owners & Skippers

Yacht owners and skippers remain solely responsible for the seaworthiness of their vessels, compliance with all safety regulations, and the proper maintenance and operation of their yachts. They affirm that their crew are competent, fit, and properly briefed on safety procedures, and that their participation does not endanger themselves or others.

    1. Medical Fitness

Each participant affirms that they are medically and physically fit to take part in the Event and that they will not participate if suffering from any condition that may impair their ability to safely sail or the safety of others.

    1. Insurance Requirements

Yacht owners and skippers are required to maintain valid third-party liability insurance covering their vessel and crew for the duration of the Event. Proof of insurance may be requested by the Organizers prior to participation.

    1. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Synergy Yacht Sales & Consulting, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and representatives against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from or connected to their participation in the Event.

    1. Acknowledgment of Rules & Conduct

All participants agree to comply with the official rules of the Spirit of Sailing Cup, including instructions from race officials, the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club, the Municipality of Preveza, and the Organizers. Failure to comply may result in disqualification or removal from the Event without refund.

By signing the registration form or otherwise confirming participation, each participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to the terms of this Liability Release & Assumption of Risk, fully releasing Synergy Yacht Sales & Consulting and its partners from liability.
